Good question.  Simple answer is that we have been working (secretly) on this for several years.  Timing is everything and we were looking for the right time,  That time is now. The future of surfing is here.  It is suitable for all surfboards, including shortboards, longboards, funboards, and fish boards.  While it can be used on foamies (soft boards), we don‘t recommend except as a training tool. 

In addition to its ‘sticky’ formula—hence the “Stick with SAP®️” logo (see what we did there?)—our product’s unique properties ensure it maintains its grooves and shape in the design you choose, much like the tire on your bicycle or car.

Glad you asked…and no.  This was a challenge to solve but a necessary one for those of us who hate having melted wax on the roof racks and the roof of the car.  Forget it if you have the sunroof open and it drips on your seats!  So, no.  It is heat tolerant to high temps.  Perhaps not up to Mars Planet temps, but hot enough for 99% of planet Earth (we did not test in Death Valley, Calf, but seriously there is no water there!.   

Our product can be applied to skim boards, stand up paddle boards (esp. if you want to surf it). Send us suggestions if you have other ideas!  Also, in you get a bad ding on your board that breaks the fiberglass, as an emergency/temporary measure you can use Aussie SurfSAP®️ to cover and prevent salt water from entering the board.  See…it has many uses!

Yes. We have tested our products in Australia, Hawaii and East Coast US.   

Best results will be obtained using a high strength rubbing alcohol.  This can be bought at your local pharmacy, supermarket or hard ware store.  90%+ strength is recommended.  And your board will be hygienically clean too!

Surf wax is commonly made from oil by-products. Its environmental effects are toxic to marine life and reefs. It is estimated that more than 6 million bars are used each year.  Petroleum products are dangerous to marine life and detrimental to water quality.  

Over 20 years.  Our Founder had this idea in the 90’s and has been thinking of it since.  Working with business consultants (should have bypassed this step!) and chemical engineers over the past few years allowed us to create this revolutionary product from scratch.  We have tested in Australia, Hawaii and East Coast of U.S.. Through summer heat and winter (East Coast) cold. 

We speak goodly English, but the real reason is that SAP is a secret acronyn known only to Our Founder, and also is designed to convey a sticky, natural product.  Like tree sap. One day we believe it will be be standard of surf board traction. 

For winter surfing or when you are wearring a wet suit, throw some beach sand onto the product immediately after creating your design before the curing starts. The sand will chemically bind to the product and create an even greater friction co-efficient (technical for more better grip).  This means that the sand will add additional grip to the product.  Careful though, it will be much rougher if you go back to a rash vest/shirt next surf.  That why we tested in winter conditions…you‘re welcome.  

Simple DIY Aussie SurfSAP Remover

Ingredients

• 80% d-Limonene (citrus solvent)
• 20% Isopropyl Alcohol (91% or higher)

Example Batch

• 8 oz (240 mL) d-Limonene
• 2 oz (60 mL) Isopropyl Alcohol

Mix thoroughly in a chemical-resistant spray bottle.

Directions

1. Apply remover to a clean cloth.
2. Wipe the SurfSAP-coated area.
3. Allow to sit for 30–60 seconds.
4. Wipe away dissolved residue.
5. Repeat if necessary.
6. Wash board with mild soap and water and dry thoroughly.

Safety

• Test on a small area before full use.
• Use in a well-ventilated area.
• Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged skin exposure.
• Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames.
• Keep out of reach of children.
